# Layout and responsive bounds

Parents provide bounds. Use `Container` measure steps, `Row` and `Column` spacing/alignment booleans, `span` for twelfths, and `Grid` for responsive tiles. A field fills its parent; a button hugs its contents unless `block` or a supported measure step changes it. Do not set fixed component widths or invent string variant props. Measure the component's own container for internal reflow; viewport breakpoints are for application chrome.
